A very useful thing to do is to grab hold of a fantasy and to break it down.
Break it down into its various components.
When we do this we will find narration, imagery and emotions.
In the imagery component we will find basically memories of impressions left untransformed.
The imagery is basically the content of the fantasy. When we examine the imagery we will find a lot of illogical and disjointed sequences. Also the image quality will be poor, much poorer than conscious imagination.
In the imagery we find the scenario and the actions that produce the emotions, which is really what the ego is wanting - it wants a certain feeling... The feeling of having something or being something...
In the narration we will find complementary word impressions that support the imagery and also add to the generation of emotion. The narrating voice is often used to give a voice to the people featuring in the fantasy.
In the emotion we find what we really want from the fantasy. We find the value or quality we are missing or desire. We find there also the central motivating desire of the fantasy also.
Nearly all the fantasies are emotional. If this were not the case fantasy would be easy to stop and defeat.
