Karmic Programming - (780)

Strange, Powerful and Perhaps Astonishingly Cruel

Karmic programming is something that is not talked about too much in Gnostic circles, never the less it certainly exists and it certainly rules our life and is or has been behind many of our life’s major decisions and events. It is also behind much of the way in which we are or the way in which we act.

Karmic programming gives us the idea that we are programmed to do certain things in our life, making us out to be like a robot. It is for this exact reason that many people do not like this idea of karmic programming. However there are examples in our life and in the life of others in which a certain type of programming in the form of an unescapable illogical desire or impulse drives us to do what is either against common sense or against the norm and what is good or convenient.

It is not the law or the judges of the law that program us, it is the ourselves through our past actions that provide the cause and circumstances of our programming.

Either ‘Good’ or ‘Bad’ (Karmic or Dharmic)

Karmic programming can be either good or bad. In the good sense it is the law and our Being programming us to decide and carry out decisions and actions that will take us to a place or state that will benefit ourselves and others. This is when we have dharma owed to us or either the Being has a mission to fulfil and the great law supports this.

The Bad or the Karmic

The bad is when we have a debt that we must pay and the law impels us against our will to fulfil desires that ruin our life or affect others or delay our spiritual path. Of course I doing this we are like a karmic instrument, and it does not stop there we get karma for being a karmic instrument as well.

Identifying the Bad

Karmic programing on the bad side say, is illogical yet very powerful almost unescapable. It for example makes a married man pursue another woman against his wife, his mother, his father, his children all for some desire. He says very definite things to his wife like I don’t love you any more, I want to do this, I don’t care, despite all the problems and pain it causes the man still pursues his desire. When you see something like this you can be sure it is karmic programming at work. Because the karmic programming, takes the will away from us. It must otherwise we would not be able to fulfil the program. Because of the debt it must be fulfilled. The karmic programming uses the power of the subconscious and from there the person acts and that is why it seems so illogical and silly.

Escape the Program

The way to avoid karmic programming of this type is to put oneself on a different line of destiny and to awaken consciousness. That is, be more and more free from the power of the subconscious. This type of karmic programming is very scary. Because it is merciless.

To undo the karmic program we need will or better said epigenesis which has the power to create new circumstances, where the debt no longer reigns over us. This if we lack some merit can be extraordinarily hard or difficult.

Attention with Mind, Attention with Essence - (5197)

These two attentions are different. Attention with the mind tires the brain. and reduces the flow of life into steps, where it is inevitable that the narration of the mind begins to take over. With the awareness of steps comes a certain tediousness and the feeling of the flow of life leaving us behind. With the attention of mind very little of what's behind events comes to us... Attention with the essence brings the power of presence, in other words brings a certain depth and continuity of flow  Attention with the essence doesn't tire or strain and opens doorways into perceiving what is behind events and the thoughts and feelings that appear within us. It allows us also to flow with the flow of life, which is a pleasant feeling. Conclusion, make the essence bring attention to outer and inner life. End (5197).

The Sacred Substance Askokin - (962)

Introduction In simple terms, the sacred Askokin substance is the result of the mercury and the sulphur. It is the transmuted energy that crystallises to form the internal bodies (astral, mental and causal). In other words, it is the transmutation of our sexual energies. The Abrustdonis’ and ‘Helkdonis that Gurdjieff mentions in the excerpt below, taken from “Belzeebub’s Tales to His Grandson” are none other than the elements of mercury and the sulphur so spoken about in Alchemy. Excerpt on the Sacred Substance Askokin “I first learned that the destiny of beings arising on this planet of yours is chiefly to elaborate—by means of the process of their existence—the vibrations required by Nature for the maintenance of those former parts of the planet now called Moon and Anulios, when, do you remember, I became worthy personally to converse for the second time with His Conformity the then still Angel, but now Archan...

Wisdom from the Movie “Kingdom of Heaven” - (2168)

Introduction There are some movies that leave you with some pieces of advice that at point or another in your life or in the lives of others prove useful. This movie: “Kingdom of Heaven” was terrible to watch (too many battle scenes and people dying) but offered some very useful messages. In this post, I have presented a few, that have come in handy at point or another. Just to give you a bit of context, the movie is about the crusades, where the French and English were trying to defend the “Holy City” – Jerusalem from Islamic occupation. The topic of religion and God is a constant theme in the movie. It is very violent though, matching it frankly, quite awful to watch. Your Soul is in Your Keeping Alone An interesting dialogue between the French appointed king of Jerusalem and French Knight, the protagonist of the movie. Note, the king wears that metal mask because he has leprosy. King Baldwin I...
