The Past in our Psychology - (1189)

Introduction

The following are the notes that I jotted down one day when my marvellous missionary spoke about the Past in relation to our psychology and consciousness.

The Past

We judge by virtue of past these three things:

1.) Ourselves
2.) Others
3.) Events of life

The egos of self-love, resentment and fear are the ones that judge by virtue of the past.

The reason why we have so many problems with people because we see them by virtue of the past.

Fear and the Past

If we didn't have pain, we would not have fear.

The process is: mistakes -> consequences -> karma -> pain--> fear.

The logic of fear is that something may happen to me. This logic is based on the memory of pain. We have to erase the memory of the past to dissolve fear.

We create our own karma.

Our mind keeps that memory of karma and pain alive!

Scepticism and the Past

We forget facts and results. All these testimonies about how people have been saved and helped show us fear is wrong.

We have scepticism because of a lack of the present we keep seeing the past where we failed.

Sleeping people don't trust facts and results, they tend to always trust their own mind.

We must change our way of thinking and connect to the present and leave the past.

When we express fear with words we are actually believing in the words of fear.

Trust is an inner quality, a state of consciousness.

End (1189).
