To do this is to squeeze their heart, perhaps beyond their
will and beyond their current capacity, and this can only do harm.
It is also not at all very good for ourselves to want that. Would
it not only make us to suffer more in wanting what can not be given, because it
can only be showed for a moment, and as it can only be shown it can also be feigned…
To want that does not equate to love but only to open the
door to disappointment and to thwart our inner development. To want to receive
all the time, and live on receiving is to distort the balance of our inner
nature and then we are set up to receive pain…
I would rather want that I could love the interior Being
right to the very depths of the heart or to love another to those depths, but
not to demand that of another.
To love tot eh depths of the heart requires much comprehension,
much inner dominion and separation from many “I’s”, and this is more valuable
then being full of “I’s” and receiving love and not doing anything about but
wanting to receive more and more.
End (2526).
