We are truly not our way of thinking and feeling. We really feel that we are and we intensely defend our way of thinking and feeling.
We can often catch ourselves saying statements such as: "that's just me, that's the way I think!", "I can't think and feel differently about that issue. That's just the way I think, it is me!".
The truth is though that our way of thinking and feeling changes over time. It is actually pliable, flexible and malleable. Our consciousness or intelligence can mold it.
So then who are we if at one point we can think one way and later in time think the opposite?
Even though it may seem true that my way of thinking is all me, others actually can and do think like that also. How unique is it really?
We have to identify ourselves as the consciousness and intelligence, which is the one that can mold our way of thinking and feeling.
When we identify with our way of thinking we feel hurt all the time. It never stops.
It may really hurt and feel like we are losing our right to be an individual when another person takes away the right for our way of thinking to be expressed or validated or made out to be wrong.
We instead must see that we are the intelligence that authors our way of thinking and feeling and we can use that same conscious intelligence to reauthor it for the better of ourselves and others.
Our consciousness is not a way of thinking, it is light, awareness, attention and intelligence.
We are much happier and freer and relate much better to ourselves when we see ourselves to bet he intelligence and consciousness. That is where freedom starts.
End (6093).
