Introduction to Karma - (724)

An Overview

Karma like balance, is a tremendous law that we really must know about and become very conscious of, if at the very least we want to live a happy life.

Karma is a Sanskrit word which means basically cause and effect. It is the law that ties causes to effects. Whatever it is that we sow, it is what we shall reap.

An understanding of karma has now become mainstream in society, though what is needed is for that understanding to run deeper in the human being, and go from the intellect to the emotions and in the actions. When we live by the understanding of karma we can certainly change aspects of our life.

It has been said that if all the nations and human beings were fully aware of the law of karma, then most of the conflicts would cease, and much of the injustice in the world would also cease.

Karma is something that despite our unacceptance of it, governs our life, it is the law that has placed us in the time, location and circumstances in which we find ourselves. Though the marvellous thing is, is that with awareness of the Law of Karma and hard work it can be modified.

The Gnostic study of karma helps the student to acquire a more extensive and deeper understanding of the law of karma as well as to provide some practical guidelines and practices to manage our particular karma.
