Introduction (3rd 6 of 18 Note Sections)

This post contains the last section of notes 13 to 16 taken during the first day of the retreat at Lake George in June 2016.

Changing Circumstances (13/18)

Only the consciousness can change circumstances. That is the consciousness in the free Essence.

The Subconscious (14/18)

Subconscious is constant avoidance and evasion.
•It is to believe in our mind.
•It is the absurd or the illogical.
•The secret mechanism of our actions.
•Body language denounces it.
•Sabotage
•Justifications
•It is that which we are not aware of.
•Hidden agenda in our mind.
•That which is closed and hidden.
•It is to believe in our memories.
•Specializes in delay tactics and subtle resistance.
•Indirect language of sabotage.
•Attempts to obtain and maintain control.
•Hidden and secret desires.
•Make an honest list of all that you really want and there we will find our subconscious! Because our subconscious is in much of what we want.
•It is a mechanism of compensation.
•Adultery is about the subconscious, it is the subconscious getting what it lacks or rather what the spouse appears to lack in relation to oneself.
•Specialises in taking revenge in time. It hides its revenge in sarcasm, irony etc.
•Karma is processed from the subconscious. It is never openly declared or even known clearly and by all involved.

Internal Word I (15/18)

This post is an outline of a lecture that could be given about the internal word.

Points:

•Shares the properties of the word which are to create, maintain or modify or destroy.
•It can create inside of ourselves, specifically in our psyche.
•It can break down structures, attitudes, fantasies etc. that we have in our psyche.
•All thinking uses the internal word.
•A key principle is who uses the word in us. Is it the awakened part of our essence or the sleeping part.
•The word takes on its true effect all depending on who uses it. The full effect, the maximum power of the word is God’s, that is why it was “with God in the beginning” as the bible in John says.
•It is also in images. The word forms geometries and shapes thus images of all kinds.
•It is what expresses all of the tree of life.
•All of nature vocalizes and uses the word.
•It is pure magic! We must therefore be impeccable with the word, because it is so powerful, using it impeccably brings magical beauty to our life.
•The Logos sounds. The Logos is the intelligence that the word expresses.
•It is a tool that shapes and forms or destroys.
•We break down things or structures inside of ourselves by using questioning in our internal word.
•If we use it consciously we can increase our consciousness.
•If we use it consciously we can become more conscious.
•If we use it subconsciously we become more asleep.
•The internal word is what we use to decide things.
•It is in our resolutions.
•It is used to make decisions.
•It can create positive internal states as well as negative states.
•Which one are we? Out internal word or our physical word? We are more our internal word, but really in depth we are our motor centre, that is what we do – our facts.
•The internal word reveals more about our inner psychological nature.
•The goal is to unite ourselves with the word or incarnate it which is to incarnate the truth.
•The internal word is to be used carefully with our consciousness watching over it.

Love is only Real when it is Accepted (16/18)

When we accept love from someone and then that love is recognised by the Law and is real, the person who sent the love receives the merits for have given it!

When there is an offence and no offence in the receiving party is felt, the karma for the sender is decreased or diminished.

Even if the offence is pardoned, it seems that the karma for giving the offence is waived.

Internal Word II (17/18)

•The internal word has command or imperative, but only works when there is understanding or consciousness.
•Internal word using questioning breaks down illusions, altitudes and wrong egoic states, or arguments and logic.
•The internal word motivates and connects to the subconscious and to the physical body.
•Mantras are internal words which become powerful when the sound or vibration takes over to become the major vibration of our psyche.
•Affirmations use the internal word. The repetition gets it to become conscious one day.
•The subconscious is very smart, it is the part of the mind that we are not aware of. It has tremendous powers
•All invocations are done with the external word or internal word.
•Magical formula are all usually made up of words.

Every Retreat has Three Stages - (18/18)

Every retreat can be noticed to have three basic parts to it which are a beginning, a middle and an end.

Each part has its characteristic quality. The beginning can be slow and of a building up or crescendo like quality or it can be very intense right from the beginning. Usually this is where some retreat attendants have some difficulties because a process of adaptation is required which if one is not so well prepared can be difficult.

The middle always has a stabilising or consolidating quality. This is where basically everyone has adapted to the dynamic of the retreat. By now the major lessons and works to have performed in the retreat have been accomplished by now and a harmony amongst all the participants begins to set in.

The end usually has a peaceful and harmonious flavour or even a nostalgic flavour to it. One may feel grateful, at peace, in harmony or slightly sad or nostalgic because the retreat’s end is near.

End (1037).

Attention with Mind, Attention with Essence - (5197)

These two attentions are different. Attention with the mind tires the brain. and reduces the flow of life into steps, where it is inevitable that the narration of the mind begins to take over. With the awareness of steps comes a certain tediousness and the feeling of the flow of life leaving us behind. With the attention of mind very little of what's behind events comes to us... Attention with the essence brings the power of presence, in other words brings a certain depth and continuity of flow  Attention with the essence doesn't tire or strain and opens doorways into perceiving what is behind events and the thoughts and feelings that appear within us. It allows us also to flow with the flow of life, which is a pleasant feeling. Conclusion, make the essence bring attention to outer and inner life. End (5197).

The Sacred Substance Askokin - (962)

Introduction In simple terms, the sacred Askokin substance is the result of the mercury and the sulphur. It is the transmuted energy that crystallises to form the internal bodies (astral, mental and causal). In other words, it is the transmutation of our sexual energies. The Abrustdonis’ and ‘Helkdonis that Gurdjieff mentions in the excerpt below, taken from “Belzeebub’s Tales to His Grandson” are none other than the elements of mercury and the sulphur so spoken about in Alchemy. Excerpt on the Sacred Substance Askokin “I first learned that the destiny of beings arising on this planet of yours is chiefly to elaborate—by means of the process of their existence—the vibrations required by Nature for the maintenance of those former parts of the planet now called Moon and Anulios, when, do you remember, I became worthy personally to converse for the second time with His Conformity the then still Angel, but now Archan...

Wisdom from the Movie “Kingdom of Heaven” - (2168)

Introduction There are some movies that leave you with some pieces of advice that at point or another in your life or in the lives of others prove useful. This movie: “Kingdom of Heaven” was terrible to watch (too many battle scenes and people dying) but offered some very useful messages. In this post, I have presented a few, that have come in handy at point or another. Just to give you a bit of context, the movie is about the crusades, where the French and English were trying to defend the “Holy City” – Jerusalem from Islamic occupation. The topic of religion and God is a constant theme in the movie. It is very violent though, matching it frankly, quite awful to watch. Your Soul is in Your Keeping Alone An interesting dialogue between the French appointed king of Jerusalem and French Knight, the protagonist of the movie. Note, the king wears that metal mask because he has leprosy. King Baldwin I...
