They are our Values!
Remember that passage in Master Samael’s book “Yes there is
a Hell, Yes there is a Devil and Yes there is Karma” where he relates the time
where we made a bet with his own Devil, Typhon or inner psychological trainer
that he would fall into any sexual type of temptation. The wager was that if he
lost to his own Devil he would lose certain values or merits which Master
Samael described as being values or virtues of the soul.

Meaning we Gain or Lose Merit as Values
Meaning that when we make a mistake or fail a test we lose capital
which turns out to be our values or virtues which are such things as patience,
courage, temperance, humility, trust, chastity etc. When we fail a test we may
lose some patience, some temperance, some contentment etc.
Conclusion
Really then our merits or capital are our values. That is
why the first factor that of psychological death is what pays the most because with
the psychological work new virtues and values are conquered and therefore merit
or capital is gained.
