Making the Personality Passive - (1353)

Introduction

The human personality that we have, which by the way belongs to time and space, in the later stages of the path is eliminated.

Right now, though it is not the time to eliminate it, but rather make it passive. The time to eliminate it totally will come later.

I think that it is good to know that as we work in eliminating the ego we are actually eliminating parts of the personality or at least making the personality weaker. This is because the personality has the various egos that we have as ingredients. Also as one awakens more their consciousness, the personality will be more often than not displaced and passive.

Why Make it Passive

The big reason to make the effort to pacify the personality, is that an active personality clouds the consciousness and calls the various egos that we have to forefront of our psyche.

An active personality does not allow us to practice self-remembering and to be in the moment and be more awake.

If we are finding being in the moment or self-remembering difficult we can look straightaway at our personality, and see how active it is. This is infallible, passive personality = more alertness and more active consciousness.

If we want to be more awake or have our consciousness more active then we have to make our personality passive.

Making it Passive

First Know it

This is the difficult part. First we must know our personality. We have little chance of making it passive when we don't know when it is active in us!

It is all about the matters of time and space. It is like the identification or fascination with human life and the things of human life. It is the personification of the 'spice of life' or the 'buzz of life', it is the business of life within our psyche. It is the words, mannerisms, expressions, ways of doing things, mentality, acceptable behaviour and speech of the country and time in which we live. And many more things a well such as tradition, family, upbringing, education, religion etc.

Second - Alertness

Once we are able to detect when it is active in us we can do something to pacify it. To know when it is active we need alertness or self-observation. The personality is extraordinarily active when we are with others.

Third - Relax

Make the conscious effort, which is an almost minute by minute effort to relax the body and one's pulse. Slow down! Send your attention inwards towards your interior. Look for the source of your life, your divine inner presence, your essence. Keep alert, and just keep to the facts, call everything by its proper English name, don't use slang, stick to using neutral words.

Fourth - Watch Fascination

A major point is identification and fascination with the things of life. If we can keep our fascination with the things of life slight we can get a grip on a personality and make it passive.

Fifth - Control

The personality always likes control and place up the front. If we can just do what we have to do without that protagonistic quality of the personality, we will also then have a better grip on it so to be able to make it passive.

Sixth - Values of Horizontal

The personality has the values of life as its foundation. If we have the values of the work, path and our Being as our reference point, it is also much easier to make the personality retreat tot he background.

End (1353).

Kundry from Parsifal Unveiled - (3948)

The character Kundry is very unusual, and has a mysterious role in Wagner's opera: Parsifal. As master Samael explains, Kundry represents the archetype of the feminine. That mysterious yet extraordinarily powerful force that can raise a man to the heights of realisation or sink him into the abyss of failure.  Kundry in the opera takes on a few different opposing roles, one where she is the temptress that seduced the king of the Holy Grail: King Amfortas giving Klingsor the opportunity to steal the Lance of Longinus and wound his side. She then helps the wounded king searching for balms to heal the wound in his side, then she is again the temptress that tries to seduce Parsifal the young knight who tries to redeem the lost lance. When Parsifal is victorious destroying the castle of Klingsor Kundry changes roles to become a servant of the holy grail and the knights of the order of the holy grail. These are all aspects of the powerful feminine force that is varied and has many differe...

What is the Kundabuffer or Kundartiguador? - (405)

Introduction Gurdjieff and Master Samael spoke much about the Kundabuffer organ and a lot of what Master Samael said is pretty clear. This post is just about going over some of what he said. In the Quinto Evangelio, Master Samael also revealed many more details which do not appear in his books. Note, the Qunito Evangelio is a two tome compilation of transcriptions of many recordings of informal talks that Master Samael had with his students. English and Spanish Terms There are these two terms Kundartiguador and Kundabuffer which refer to the same thing. Kundartiguador is Spanish and Kundabuffer is English. I believe it was Gurdjieff who first introduced these terms in his book “Beelzebub’s Tales to his Grandson”. I believe “Beelzebub’s Tales to his Grandson” was not originally written in ether Spanish or English. So these terms Kundartiguador and Kundabuffer are translations where the word “Kunda” could not be translated and the ending "buffer" could b...

When We Speak Bad About Ourselves - Because of Self-Compassion - (2963)

Even Just Thinking Negative When we just even think, let alone speak about ourselves in a negative way, thinking things like: how we are really this and that bad and that is not at all what others see, that we are in capable, worth little, know nothing, can't do this and that, fail at this and that, a liar, a dreamer the list goes on... We can be 100% sure that self-compassion is behind this because pride by itself would never allow this.  In a case like this self-compassion taps into what pride hides from itself and others and exposes it. Feeling that it is doing job at ruining ourselves. Why It Does What It Does? Self-compassion does this sort of thing to avoid reprimand and to extract compassion from others. Self-compassion is about getting compassion for ourselves through others. It is set-up in relativity, using others as a reference point. Really the best thing that you can do for a person who is pitted against this ego is to ignore them, so that they can fa...
